August Foreclosures Down
Fri October 16, 2009, 6:54 pm
by Bill Metzker

The kind of good news is that foreclosures in Oregon in August were down 1%. That's good that the number of distressed homeowners may be smaller.  Still, 3,553 properties received notices of default.

Still double from last year, but still.

On another note, I spent an hour or so with the folks at Open Door this week, where I'd hoped to volunteer. What a terrific organization, 'way more on top of the foreclosure crisis than most (including me, I'd have to say).  HUD-trained volunteers are working their bippies off to get loan modifications for people--free.  The group does other work as well, but if you need a loan modification and don't want to do it yourself, contact them.
